"I got my Claddagh ring when I was 17 in Galway, Ireland as a present from my parents as my dad's side of my family are Irish.
"Claddagh rings are worn two ways, one with the heart pointing away, meaning you’re single, and one with the heart pointing up (to your heart) meaning that your heart has been taken. Both my parents and all my siblings have a one too, as well as my grandparents and all the Irish family on my dad’s side.
"The ring means a lot to me as it reminds me of my Nan and Grandad and my Irish roots. I visit Ireland at least once a year to catch up with family as a lot of my dad’s family live over there, so it’s nice to catch up and look around the areas in which my dad grew up.
"I wear my Claddagh ring every day. It’s supposed to go on the opposite hand of your wedding finger, however my hands are too small so I wear it on the middle finger but one day I plan to pass it on to either my children or nieces/nephews."
