“This won’t make me sound sad will it? Basically it’s this skirt, look how pretty it is…
It’s from Topshop, I saw it on their website ages ago and was intrigued but it was pretty pricey so I wasn’t really keen on it at first. A few weeks ago I suddenly really wanted it, I can’t really describe the feeling I just knew I had to have it but it wasn’t in stock.
I kept checking regularly and I saw it was in stock in my regular size so I bought it, but then I got an email saying the product was unavailable. This happened twice, there literally must have only been one left of my size each time and I was just unlucky.
I decided instead to see if anyone was selling it on eBay, they were and in my size, I bought it straight away convinced this time that at last the skirt would be mine.
The order took a while to process because the seller was ill and then when it did I got a message from her saying that the skirt was actually a size 12 not my size!!
By this point I’d pretty much given up however, as my boyfriend was going to London I thought I’d ask him to check the Oxford Street store. Again no luck, basically every size but mine.
So, I ordered a different embroidered leather skirt. Beautiful but I couldn’t keep my mind off this other skirt. I sound so obsessed! Look at it though the detailing is just gorgeous definitely worth this palaver.
Anyway, the other week I was just absentmindedly flicking through Topshop’s website whilst watching TV and I saw that the skirt was available in a smaller size. Not what I’d usually buy and by this point I was convinced the skirt would never be mine!
As you can see though it was in stock and it fits perfectly, like it was made for me. Maybe it was.. I just love it so much.”
